About the Role

The HR & Operations Assistant will play a critical role in building and running the foundational systems of GloJourn. This role combines human resources, payroll, compliance coordination, and end-to-end startup operations. The position is designed for someone who is highly organized, execution-focused, and comfortable working in an evolving startup environment where structure is still being built.
This role supports both people operations and business operations, ensuring smooth daily functioning while building scalable processes for growth.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

HR & People Operations

  • Support end-to-end HR operations including hiring coordination, onboarding, documentation, and exit processes

  • Maintain employee records, HR documentation, contracts, and compliance files

  • Coordinate recruitment logistics (job postings, screening coordination, interview scheduling)

  • Manage onboarding processes including policies, access, and induction workflows

  • Support employee engagement activities and internal communications

  • Assist with performance tracking processes and review coordination

Payroll & Compliance

  • Support payroll processing in coordination with external vendors/accountants

  • Track attendance, leaves, reimbursements, and employee benefits

  • Maintain statutory compliance documentation (PF, ESI, tax filings, labor law documentation, as applicable)

  • Coordinate audits and compliance reporting

  • Maintain payroll records and reporting dashboards

Operations & Business Support

  • Manage day-to-day startup operations and internal workflows

  • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and external partners

  • Support financial operations tracking (invoicing, payments, basic expense management)

  • Assist in setting up SOPs, policies, and internal operational frameworks

  • Maintain documentation systems, trackers, and internal databases

  • Support leadership with operational reporting and execution tracking

Startup Enablement

  • Build scalable systems for HR and operations from scratch

  • Create structure in processes where none exist

  • Support cross-functional coordination between product, tech, content, and business teams

  • Assist founders in operational planning and execution


Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Management, Commerce, or related field

Experience

  • 1–4 years of experience in HR operations, office operations, or startup operations roles

  • Experience in early-stage startups is a strong advantage
